Ubiquiti NanoStation Loco 5AC (LOCO 5AC)
Per piece
The Ubiquiti NanoStation Loco 5AC (LOCO 5AC) is a compact and cost-effective airMAX ac radio for outdoor wireless networking. It's an upgrade from the older M series (like the LOCO M5) and is designed for point-to-point (PtP) and point-to-multipoint (PtMP) applications where a small form factor and high performance are needed.
Â
Â
airMAX ac Technology: It uses Ubiquiti's proprietary airMAX ac protocol, which is a major improvement over the legacy airMAX M series. It offers significantly higher throughput, better noise immunity, and lower latency. It's capable of achieving up to 450+ Mbps of real TCP/IP throughput.
Operating Frequency: Operates in the 5 GHz frequency band, which is less susceptible to interference than 2.4 GHz, making it suitable for congested wireless environments.
Antenna: It has an integrated 13 dBi dual-linear polarized antenna. This focused antenna design allows it to create a strong, directional signal for medium-range links.
Networking Interface: It is equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet port, which is essential for handling the high throughput provided by airMAX ac technology.
Power over Ethernet (PoE): It is powered by 24V passive PoE, which allows power and data to be transmitted over a single Ethernet cable. A compatible PoE adapter is typically included in the package.
Physical Design:
Compact Size: The "Loco" in its name highlights its small, discreet design, making it easy to install in various locations.
Durable Enclosure: The device is built with an outdoor, UV-stabilized plastic casing, allowing it to withstand harsh weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
Mounting: It comes with a pole-mounting kit for quick and simple installation.

Â
Point-to-Point (PtP) Bridging: It is a popular choice for creating wireless bridges between two buildings over a distance of a few kilometers.
Point-to-MultiPoint (PtMP) Client: It can be used as a client device (CPE) to connect to an airMAX ac base station (like a Rocket 5AC with a sector antenna) in a wireless ISP network.
Video Surveillance: It is often used to provide wireless connectivity to IP cameras for surveillance systems.
